After I'm R7 I'll give this a go with 1h staff. But I think you're really on to something. When my hawk tanks she gets *stun stun stun* and then loses aggro. A SB or BS has much higher resistance to stuns. That hax +5 pass damage of yours probably has a lot to do your surviveability though.
